Irem Harnak is a visual artist born in Istanbul, and she has lived and worked in London, UK.
Irem is an editorial and portrait photographer interested in creating narratives through her own visual language. Her editorial work has been in publications such as Marie Claire China, Excelente, Boys by Girls and Models.com.
She made her directorial debut with Made This Way: Redefining Masculinity, her first VR project born out of a photo series about masculinity and transgender men. It premiered as a mixed media installation at HotDocs International Documentary Festival in April 2018.
“Made This Way” the photo series has been exhibited at Nuit Rose Festival during Pride 2017 in Toronto, Canada.
Irem has previously lensed two indie feature films and one VR short film.
She is a Merit Winner of The Look 2010, International Fashion Photograpy Competition presented by PDN.
